In The Space of 40 days

Yesterday the hour drive to church was worth it. I drove back from Pasadena to Huntington Beach to go to my church...and it was such a blessing! The entire sermon was on Waiting...sounds and feels familiar! But what stuck out to me was how every mighty warrior of the bible had his "40 days of of shaping/testing":
  • Noah and the flood
  • Spies searching out the promise land
  • Jonah and Ninivah
  • Israel wondered for 40 years (Please Jesus, don't let that be me...although I'm close :)
  • Pauls preparation
  • Jesus' testing
The list can go on and on, but what struck me, is now with my new ticket, I will be there for 40 days! The fact hit me hard and fast. I literally got out a calendar and counted to make sure I was thinking correctly... I was.

So, as I actively wait right now to leave, asking the question: "What is this space suppose to look like?" I also am anticipating my 40 days of shaping. It may be awesome, it may be hard, it may be wearysome, it may be the best 40 days of my life... I don't know. But what I do know is there year has taught me to TRUST that God is indeed in control and to walk by FAITH not by sight (bc sight never seems to make sense this year!)
I cannot tell you the peace I have experienced during this waiting time and knowing that God has me right where he wants me. I'm also so ready and excited to be and celebrate with my African friends!!!
